On Route - The custom Route Planning tool with many powerful features Ideal for finding new routes in your area or optimizing foreign holiday trips.
Plan a personalised route between two locations or a round trip that favours fast, minor or scenic roads as desired, additionally motorways and towns can be avoided as desired. Limit your route to a specific distance and containing for example, as many turns as desired. Great for quickly turning any boring ride into an interesting trip!
The Advanced Excursion wizard allows round trip planning from any particular start point, great for trips from home or from you're holiday base or indeed any set location.
Choose the type of trip you want to plan, Round-trip (Calculates a round-trip along scenic routes), Family trip (Excursion to a location of interest to children), Sight-seeing (Excursion with one or more interesting locations, POI).
Within Excursion Manager you get a preview rating of your route and its alternatives according to certain criteria, for example amount of corners (high, low, medium), winding roads, outside towns and cities, changes in elevation (uphill and downhill), scenery (rivers and lakes etc) and of course you can preview your route in Google Earth.

If you are an existing customer for on-route, there is an update for this application available for you, this update includes the following features/improvements:

Exporting routes to Zumo and Nuvi devices is now optimized, with faster calculation and better consistency
~ Icons added to POI Export
Exporting to Garmin or TomTom now includes the icon types for the POI's
~ TomTom POI Directory made Selectable
During the export to TomTom it is now possible to select the directory for the export, this is of interest if you have different types of maps available
~ Multi-Language Support improvements
Local and international names of towns and locations now have broadened coverage, this allows On-Route to show for example a city name in the most user-friendly way, e.g. Brussels for the English version instead of Bruxelles
~ Support for VMWare
On-Route can now be used with VMWare
~ Improved GPX Support
If a GPX file contains multiple routes or tracks and waypoints the user can now choose which of these should be imported when using the GPX file. The names and some information is available to the user to make a more informed choice.
